Holly is the heart
of everything we do.

Holly’s Hope was founded in memory of Holly Newton, whose life was taken at just 15 years old.

Holly’s mam, Micala Trussler, and her husband, Lee Trussler, co-founded Holly’s Hope in her memory. Together, they carry her legacy into education, campaigning and practical work in the community.

Through education and awareness, we help young people recognise coercive control, stalking and abuse in teenage relationships — and understand that support is something they deserve.

A lasting legacy, driven by love.

Understanding today.
Safer relationships tomorrow.

Practical, age-appropriate education for young people. Lived-experience insight for the adults who support them.

03 / Campaigning for Holly’s Law

Their age should
never make their
experience invisible.

We’re campaigning for stronger recognition and protection for children under 16 who experience abuse in teenage relationships.

Holly’s Law is our call for meaningful change — with young people’s safety at its heart.

What we are asking for

01

Recognition

Take teenage relationship abuse seriously, including the experiences of children under 16.

02

Earlier understanding

Give young people and the adults around them the knowledge to recognise unhealthy and abusive behaviour.

03

A stronger response

Help turn recognition into appropriate safeguarding, support and protection for young people.

These are our campaign aims. We continue to advocate for change with decision-makers.

A personal voice in the conversations that need to happen.

Micala co-founded Holly’s Hope with her husband, Lee, in memory of her daughter. Her work brings a parent’s lived experience to education, safeguarding discussions and the campaign for Holly’s Law.

She speaks with schools, professionals and policymakers about teenage relationship abuse, peer support and why young people need to be heard.
